Urban Decay Naked Palette

It’s gone and I guess, somehow, life will go on. It’s still hard to believe Urban Decay discontinued their cult favorite and original Naked Palette. In honor of these holy grail palettes being officially unavailable for purchase, let’s take a look at how it all got started.

THE BEGINNING OF URBAN DECAY

The amazingly popular Urban Decay makeup brand actually started as a rebellion. In 1996, the primary colors for cosmetics were red and rose and the co-founders were tired of it. According to their website, their first launch included 10 lipsticks and 12 nail polishes in alternative tones mimicking the urban landscape.

Since the Naked Palette’s release of Urban Decay’s Fall Collection in 2010, hundreds of makeup beginners and gurus alike have fallen for the wide range of everyday colors in the Naked Palette. Using the tagline “Full Frontal is how Urban Decay does neutral!” every fashion and makeup enthusiast wanted to get Naked.

The Naked Palette has been a ride-or-die for a long, long time. In 2012 when every girl on planet earth decided to be a YouTube MUA, the one-and-only queen herself, Jaclyn Hill, blessed us with her blending using the Naked Palette for the first time on her growing YouTube channel.

Saying goodbye is the hardest part. Especially when you’re saying goodbye to an “original”.

BUT GOOD NEWS! I’ve got some of those “sold out” Naked Palettes AND I want to share them with you.
